How editing manipulates time

You can manipulate time with slow motion, slow motion is used so you can see the fast action or to show you how someone is feeling. Slow motion is used in Snatch when the dogs are running after the hare, and the two heavies are after Tyrone. Then the two sequences are juxtaposed together, to then show the fat man being hunted like a dog. The slow motion adds violence to the scene because we can see everything that is happening. Parrellel editing is used too show two events happenening in different places but making out they are happening at the same time. In Snatch there is a scence where they are playing poker, to make it more interesting and quick they create a montage sequence. This is so we dont have to watch the whole scene of them playing poker as the audience would get bored. In snatch when the boys are drinking at the bar they cut between fast, slow and real time to make interesting for the viewer. "Snatch" dog V hare example.
